BMW Group Canada outsells the competition

            WHITBY, ON, June 2 /CNW/ - BMW Group Canada (BMW and MINI Brands

combined) sold 3,228 vehicles in May 2009, down 3% compared to May 2008.

Year-to-date sales for BMW Group Canada are 9,849 units, down 7% compared to

the same period last year.

            BMW Brand: The new Z4 and 3 Series lead the way with sales increases.

            The BMW brand retailed 2,676 units, down 3% compared to May 2008.

Year-to-date, 8,388 BMWs have been retailed, a decrease of 6% compared to the

same period last year.

            The next generation BMW Z4 roadster debuted in early May with a

retractable hardtop roof. Sales of the Z4 increased 12% in May compared to

sales of the previous generation Z4 last May.

            Sales of the BMW 3 Series line-up increased 11% in May. This increase

comes on the heels of a BMW 3 Series Comparison Drive event for customers in

Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto.

            MINI Brand.

            In May, there were 552 MINIs sold, down 4% compared to May 2008. Year to

date, 1,461 MINIs have been sold, down 16% compared to the same period in

2008.

            BMW Motorrad: Record May motorcycle sales.

            BMW Motorrad Canada set a May sales record of 336 units, up one unit

compared to May 2008. Year-to-date, sales are up 27% to 929 units compared to

the same period last year.

            Pre-Owned: Best May sales month on record for BMW Pre-Owned.

            The BMW Pre-Owned division set a May sales record of 959 units, up 7%

over May 2008. Of those units, 818 were BMW Certified Series Pre-Owned

vehicles, which is up 12% to May 2008.

            Year-to-date, BMW Certified Series Pre-Owned sales are up 29% to 3,677

units compared to the same period last year. Total BMW Pre-Owned sales are up

27%, with 4,318 units sold.
